Today’s the first snow of the season here in NYC! Part of me is still in denial because fall is my favorite season and I’m not quite ready for it to end. We had a super late fall here (peak foliage was Thanksgiving!) so luckily I had plenty of time to be #basic and do all the cheesy fall things. 😉
What better place to go than Central Park? I may be biased but I think Central Park is easily the prettiest in the fall.
I absolutely love the contrast between jewel tones and the colorful fall leaves. Here I’m wearing this beautiful green top I got from Zara — for under $20! While I don’t own much green, the color is popping up everywhere this season and is definitely starting to grow on me. The scarf I’m wearing is old (~2009) but one of my favorites for autumn — there’s a similar print selling here.
Fun fact: We wanted to shoot multiple outfits in one day but knew we wouldn’t find a place to change… so I ended up wearing 4 different layers and “changing” in the middle of Bethesda Terrace! Life of a fashion blogger, am I right?
The chevron skirt I’m wearing above was only $4 from Loft! And those black quilted booties are from a boutique in NYC that I discovered around Lincoln Center in 2014. The brown Badgley Mischka bucket crossbody was my high school graduation present!
I don’t know if there’s anything more basic than a cream cable knit sweater and a Starbucks holiday cup, but you know what? If there’s any season to be cheesy, fall is it. Sometimes you just have to enjoy the little things. And of course, you’re never too old to play in the leaves. One of the things I love about NYC is that you can do absolutely anything you want and no one will care. 🙂
While I’m sad that fall is over, I’m SO excited for all the winter festivities and holidays to come. What are your favorite things to do in NYC in the winter?
